In order to identify and encourage youth development enterprises and programs in the African continent, Okongko Charity Foundation, today 3 February 2026 officially endorsed the forthcoming NANS Entrepreneurial Conference, to be organised by the office of the National Treasurer, Comrade Heritage Akan.
The Foundation gave the node when it played host to a delegation of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS in its corporate office, 118 Atiku Abubakar Way, Uyo, who were on a courtesy visit to the Foundation.
Briefing the Foundation on the plans to float the conference with the theme: ‘After School, What Next’, NANS national Treasurer, Comr. Heritage Akan, said it has become pertinent to educate undergraduate Nigerian Students on the hands-on skills they should have while in school, so as to become economically relevant and self employed after school.
While acknowledging the contributions of the Okongko Charity Foundation to scholarship and youth capital development, especially by way of sponsorship of over two thousand (2000) students, grants to youth and the vulnerable, the NANS Treasurer divulged that during the occasion, the Foundation’s President, Dr Chris Okongko will be honoured as the βIcon of Humanitarian services and Students Empowermentβ while also serving as a Guest Speaker.
Receiving the delegation at the Foundation’s Conference Hall on behalf of the President of the Foundation, the African Representative, Sir Daniel Ekanem, commended the NANS Treasurer for βthinking outside the box towards the development of the next generation of Nigerian youthsβ, describing the gesture as thoughtful and introspective.
